The NHS Supplies Health Science Staff Agency Framework?

Following on from a successful initial project from August 2003, the NHS is committed to only hire locum Health Science Staff (including Pharmacists) through a limited number of Agencies, and has now established a new Agency framework Agreement using a few select Agencies to supply the NHS. Sonographers Medical is one of these.

Should I be State Registered ?

There is mandatory State Registration for Pharmacists in the United Kingdom, currently provided through The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB). The RPSGB is the professional and regulatory body for pharmacists in England, Scotland and Wales. It also regulates pharmacy technicians on a voluntary basis, which is expected to become statutory under anticipated legislation. The primary objectives of the Society are to lead, regulate, develop and represent the profession of pharmacy.

Am I allowed to work in the UK ?

To work as a Pharmacist in the UK through Sonographers Medical you must have an appropriate Pharmacy qualification. Currently ,  New Zealand trained Pharmacists  may be required to  do a years internship in an approved centre in the UK before being allowed to practice as a Pharmacist. Do You Support Working Through A Limited Company ?

Many Pharmacists choose to sub-contract through SONOGRAPHERS Medical in order to take advantage of the tax advantages of working through their own Limited Company.
